Small Accelerated Zoom Math Classes for Advanced Kids
These small classes are designed to develop mathematical excellence in advanced learners in grades 3 – 7. The classes will allow children to connect with other math-loving advanced learners, work at their own pace, ask questions, offer insights, learn deeply, and take joy in being challenged. Classes will be taught by Jane Molnar.
Class Details:
Eligibility: Strong, focused, cooperative math students in grades 3 – 7
Schedule: Weekly sessions for 10 weeks
Class Size: Small groups of up to 7 students
Cost: $400 for the Fall Session + monthly $49 Math Academy subscription
Math Academy Integration:
I am thrilled to introduce Math Academy as our chosen learning platform. Math Academy was designed to allow students to move through a rigorous math curriculum at their natural pace. Its WASC-certified courses go from 4th-grade level mathematics to AP Calculus BC and beyond. This mastery-based innovative platform leverages the most effective, evidence-based cognitive learning strategies. Students will be free to do as much independent work as they wish on Math Academy between our lessons and bring questions to our next lesson. Students will work on Math Academy during our class and will be encouraged to ask questions whenever they need help, as well as offer help to each other. The classes will have an emphasis on joyful learning, respect, and persistence. The classes will not be competitive; the focus will be on each child maximizing their potential.
Fall Schedule:
Monday, 5:00 – 5:55 pm: Accelerated Math for 4th graders
Tuesday, 5:00 – 5:55 pm: Accelerated Math for 5th graders
Wednesday, 4:00 – 4:55 pm: Accelerated Math for 3rd graders (starts at 4th-grade level and fills in any gaps)
Wednesday, 5:00 – 5:55 pm: Accelerated Math for 6th graders
Thursday, 5:00 – 5:55 pm: Accelerated Math for 7th graders
